1.) Introduce yourself! What kind of art do you make?

I'm Soy, & I am art !!!!!!!! I also draw digital fanart & OCs !! Here I gift to you as humanity, my drawing !!

2.) How long have you been making art?

I've been scribbling for my whole life but in 2016, I decided to try to make myself try harder !! ( p-p )

3.) How many hours do you spend for each piece?

I was cursed with not being able to take my time, I finish artworks insanely fast !! I hate it because I genuinely can't slow down but I think if I did my stuff would be better ... Other artists are always jealous, but it's awful .. ( = A = ;;)

4.) Do you prefer taking your time or do you like to quickly move on to the next thing?

Beep beep beep ... KABOOMY !!!!

5.) When do you decide a piece is finished?

When I'm sick of looking at it !! (U v U) I add to old pic aaaaaaall the time too !! I never save the changes with new additions to my OS though.

6.) What part of the creation process do you enjoy the most?

Ummm... drawing ? LIKE doing the lineart !! I especially like doing faces & hair !!

7.) What part of the creation process do you dislike the most?

Sketchins ... I hated it so much that I don't do this part anymore & haven't since I was 7. XD

8.) Do you have a designated workstation or do you just work wherever?

My futon or my computer desk !!!!

9.) Do you monetize you work or is it purely a hobby?

It's a hobby. |D I have disability & can't have access to my income money, thus I don't have a personal bank account or credit card, I can only buy things, on certain sites !!

10.) Where do you share your work? On social media or a personal websites? Do you keep to yourself and close friends?

I post them to socials like Tumblr, BlueSky, Instagram, & to these art sites:

11.) What's an aspect of your art you enjoy?

XD I think my lineart is very clean !!

12.) What are things you would like to improve on?

Traditional. |D Drawing with permanent media i terrifying with my tremor disorder. :'3

13.) Are you self-taught or had formal education?

Self taught !! But I have been given brief pottery training. |D

14.) Do you research about old techniques or stick to newer ones?

Both !!!! Every period of art history is important to art as we know it !!

15.) What do you value more, experimentation or mastery?

I think mastery !! But you should always try doing new things sometimes !!

16.) Do you practice drawing from the arm? What other art techniques to you practice?

I used to do it a bit long ago !! I like meeting challenges with technique, like 1bit or Paint 3D !!

17.) How frequently do you do studies?

Fairly often !! I love this part of art creation , it's so fun !!

18.) Do you understand color theory? How'd you learn or do you want to?

I have a slightly above average understanding of it ! I have a strong concept of the color wheel !

19.) Favorite color(s)?

Baby blue , cocoa , cream ... & a lot of others ! There's no purple or yellow there ACK /shocked

20.) Are there colors you avoid? Do you think ugly colors exists?

Maybe colors like olive . xD Most colors look fine by themelves. Fuck all of orange though. XD

21.) Can you do perspective?

Slightly !! I had a drawing when I was 15 with amazing perspective ! I don't have it anymore or I'd show you XD

22.) Do you like doing lineart? How do you go about it?

I don't ever start with a sketch, since with a tremor makes it impossible to trace lines . So my first step is lineart & I LOVE it !!!

23.) Do you have multiple unfinished projects? Will you ever get to finishing them?

Yes, & maybe. XD I get bored extremely quickly !! I often never finish works that are turning out just fine XD

24.) How do you start a new piece? Do you have a plan or just figure it along the way?

I never have a plan. I just throwdown with the lines until somethinganything happen !!

25.) How do you handle art block?

I always have art block |D I just stop drawing until it's over ... watching speed arts helps a lot !!

26.) Do you listen to music or watch something while working?

I usualy listen to no vocal game OSTs. XD Or vocal synth music !!

27.) When are you most motivated to create? In the morning or evening? Rainy or sunny?

Rainy afternoons !! Too bad I live in a desert. ( ;-; )

28.) Are your sketchbooks messy or aesthetically pleasing?

Messy, covered in paints & other media, often with stickers or doodles for a cover !! Smells like art !! I love that smell.

29.) Do you like showing sketchbooks to others?

30.) Do you have any art friends? IRL or online?

Not really , i dunno ! I don't know a lot of people !

31.) Do you collaborate frequently with your friends? Is there something you'd like to work on together?

I... want to do this. I will be taking friend applications /j

32.) Have you created art to gift to others? How do feel about parting away from your work?

Yes ! I used to all the time ! Not much anymore. I delete every copy & throw out my old works (& I don't care that it makes you angry >:D) so all of my work is eventually parted with !

33.) Have you drawn for someone else? Like commissions or requests? Did you enjoy it?

I used to do commissions sometimes , I liked it fine ! I will never do it again (Unless I improve) !!

34.) How's your posture?

I have a VERY bad back. |D I have a back brace. |D

Physically ? Yes ! Emotionally ? Y E S S S S S

36.) What's a medium of art you've wanted to try / currently attempting?

I have Ohuhus & POSCAs I've never used. I might try soon !!

37.) Do you prefer stylized or realistic art?

Stylized, real people don't look good & you don't have to make a style, you just... draw normal stuff. I like the imagination side of it more !!

38.) Do you like hyper-realistic art?

It's nice, but I'd rather see creative, cute things !!

39.) Do you like abstract art?

Yes !!!!!

40.) How do you feel about fine art?

It's nice ? What do you wantt me to say ? XD that I hate it ...???

I lovee it !! This is why art exists ~ I'd think I could be called this !!

Not a lot, I'd rather draw things that I want to exist in the world !!

Maybe ? I'm a cartoonist & my style is super basic XD

Yes & yes. |D

Destroy your old / not great drawings. DO IT.

People who think artists draw anime because it's "easier" than realism (It's not) & people who assume that if you draw, you want to go to art school. (;;w;;)

I ask for extremely harsh critiques on my works, plese tear it to SHREDS >:3

It's ,, charming ,, but pretty awful to be honest XD

No XD I've been using the internet to share art for 20+ years. I've heard it all so compliments don't hold a lot for me. ;;w;;

58.) How do feel about the rise of generative AI? Do you use it for getting ideas or references?

Gonna set this shit on fire. Hell no I don't EVER use it ! The creation is the fun part !!

59.) How do feel about tracing? What about tracing 3d models to streamline art process?

I don't support tracing, & would honestly prefer people not to use 3D model traces to draw for me, anyway.

Both ! I draw lots of Bungou Stray Dogs, I only drew BSD characters & nothing else for over 7 years |D

Imagination most of the time, BUT! I use references on occasion !!

Both, I don't use them for reference, I just have a bit of fun XD

Both, but typically the former !! I'm not gonna talk about anything though XD

It's pretty consistent ! I don't have much variety for you lol

If I still have them, I touch em up ... but i don't save the changes !!

It's all skill , you can teach yourself any art !!

Living things ... mainly, cute boys !!!!

I'm OK with it, I very often see ppl draw pics in my style with credit to me, I like seeing my style as told by your head ! Art style theft is real since no two people's brains & hands work the same, but if an artist doesn't mind & credit is given, it's not an issue !

80.) Do you participate in art conventions? Do you sell your work or support everyone else?

Not anymore, but I used to go sometimes & I've looked, grabbed cards ... but I can't buy things ;w;

81.) Are you art materials expensive? Do you hoard any tools?

Yes & yes !!!! |D I have hundreds of dollars in art stuff that I've never used |D

82.) Do you organize you supplies and tools systematically?

Yes !!!!! Everything in it's compartment !!!!

83.) Do you clean up after a project? Or do you just leave everything lying around till you need the space?

Leave it, it smell nice !! I might use it again in a few minutes too !!

I never thought to ... maybe ? No drink or snacks though since consuming things is kinda hard for me..

85.) How do feel about censorship in art? Where do you draw the line for inappropriate art?

I don't want censorship at all, though I think if something is so nasty that it would require censorship (Like incest or shota) then it's a bit weird to me that there are people that would use it to get off & therefore NEED a censor to begin with, is sort of saddenning ...

86.) Do you censor your own art? Do you feel like you leave out details for it be socially accepted?

Some of my work that I post have a penis in them that I cover with a mosiac, but this is just because I like to be modest when I post publicaly !!

87.) Do you feel intimated with starting a new projects?

Not really. I just show up & throwdown. XD When I did commissions, it used to happen a lot (;u;)

88.) Are you scared of your art regressing? Do you think it's even possible to get worst at art?

It's REAL !!!!!!!! I made this like, 9 years ago & draw what I do now (;;;;;u;;;;;;)

89.) Do you frequently make compromises for your work? Does your art come out the way you envision them?

I usually try very hard to make it how I want it to look ! sometimes ... I don't notice things. |D

90.) How well do you manage your mistakes? Do you stress about them?

I STRESS. I always open them with layers & see if it' fixable ... then try to fix it ... then close without saving... 500 times

91.) Do you make lists of things you'd like to make? Do you actual commit to them?

I doooooo ~ On Trello ofc !!~ I also kinda use Notion >;33c

92.) What is your ultimate goal of your work? Like, is to tell a story, connect with others, or just to enjoy the process?

The process ! I draw to pass time without not enjoying it a little !

Hmm ... none lol

I genuinely just draw what I want whenever I do ... want to make a game someday but I usually just lay around (;u;)

..... Money !!!!!!!!!!! I already have unlimited time though.

Just make what you want, don't force it, there will be off days, take your time & have fun (Generic XD)
